Kids and a Clean House, Is It Possible?
Hey, nobody knows better than a mom how little time in the day there seems to be for things like housecleaning and keeping things organized. When you have little ones running around there are some ways to get creative with your housecleaning so you can get things accomplished.
How To Creatively Combine Childcare and Housecleaning
Nobody said being a mom was easy! There are chores to do, children to feed and houswork that seems to stack up no matter how much you try to ignore it. Ok, it's not always that bad but you can keep on top of the housework even with little ones around. Getting organized is a big key to doing this and not expecting perfection is something you must accept. Here are some practical tips on getting the houscleaning done while you have children at home.
There are a few different thoughts on housecleaning with children around: Some believe that the children are more important than the housework, others think that the work can be done and a modestly clean home can be kept while you are taking care of the children without being a total neat freak. So that takes us to our first cleaning with kids tip: - Don't think about how perfect your house needs to look, instead focus on doing what you can in the time you have and making the most of what you can do. During naptime get out the duster and do a quick dust of each room. Toddlers will be happy to play in the playpen for 15 minutes or so while you do a quick vacuum. There are ways to fit in quick things that will make a big difference in your home's overall cleaning.
- Try not to accomplish everything in one day; you'll be amazed at how much work you can get finished simply by setting aside 15-20 minutes each day to focus on a specific task. After the children have gone to bed, use the time to wash the kitchen floor; or finish a load of laundry. Another option is to enlist the help of family members, ask your husband or children to help when they have time. Or, assign chores; whether it’s asking the children to put their toys away after playing with them, or having your husband take care of the children while you tend to the house.
It's a fact of life that we need to do housecleaning but you don't have to knock yourself out everyday trying to make everything perfect. Just take one day at a time and you'll see the results of a consistent effort paying off, while you still have some energy left to have fun with the kids!
